Ok, a guy i know has basicly the same truck as mine but with a automatic trany. It's a 2004 3500 4x4 dually. He has the banks Ram-Air intake, Techni-Cooler intercooler, High-Ram intake manifold, Six-Gun Tuner, with 5" straight pipe. He claims he is getting 30 to 35 mpg unloaded and 25 to 30 loaded with a 4.10 rearend. I find that hard to belive. With the setup i have I am geting 20 unloaded. Im sure all that helps but 35????

I know it's pricey but if it really gets 35 it is worth it.

Anybody getting 35 out of there 3500 dually with a 4.10?????

I'm not familiar with the Six-Gun but some performance boxes fool the computer into thinking the engine is getting less fuel than it really is. That has a direct effect on the fuel mileage reported by the computer. Ask him to figure out his fuel mileage by hand. I bet it's much lower than what the computer is telling him.

I talked to him tonight, he said he is figuring it on paper. He said his computer said 40-50mpg. But on paper he come out with 35. I think he is full of it. If he's not i want to trade him trucks lol

I just ordered autometer boost and egt gauges. Is the boost hard to instal? Do you have to drill and tap or is there an exsisting hole pre-drilled?

Thanks

The kit for your boost gauge should come with a bolt that replaces one of the bolts that hold the cover plate on the top of the intake manifold that has a hose barb on it. No drilling needed for it but for the EGT you will have to drill and tap the exhaust.

Don't buy it. The old lady's Sentra has to be on the highway to get 36, so I say he is blowing smoke. Either that, or he is not very good at math.

wyodiesel, I'm not a fan of the boost bolts, they are far too easy to break off. Yes the work great if you don't break them.

A friend of mine has an 01 DMAX, ext. cab, 4x4, 6 speed, and 20 mpg is not uncommon. If he keeps his foot out of it with the PPE, that is!!!!

I am sure that the hose barb can be sheared off easy but I have not had any problems with the boost bolt, just the hose splitting from the hose pulling against it or slipping off. I got a heavier hose from Geno's and have not had a problem since. I have ports in my intake horn if I wanted to get the boost signal from there.

my experience was completely diff, one broke before it was screwed all the way down, then the 2nd broke as I snugged it up. I wasn't putting much pressure on it at all either. So after that I gave up on the boost bolt and just drilled/tapped the intake elbow, worked like a charm.
